The JK meaning in text is fine for children because it is just a simple and harmless way of saying "just joking." Learning when to use it is something that children must learn. Using it too much or even in serious contexts can confuse the parties involved. For example, "I broke the TV ... jk!" would serve a great deal of unnecessary anxiety. Parents can teach their children how JK stands for jokes and should not be used to mislead people in important conversations.
